117 Milk Stout
Join us as we release 117 Milk Stout! This beer was brewed with Dave of Black Ale Project and Dan of LEO Support Foundation. Available on Thursday October 4th starting at 4PM. Mangia Food Truck will be at the tap room all night, so come have dinner and a drink for a great cause.
Black Ale Project’s Dave Pappas:
"Dan Clark (local Police Officer and member of the LEO Support Foundation), Ryan Lavery (Head Brewer and Co-Founder of Widowmaker Brewing) and I had been trying hard to brew a beer together in support of veterans and law enforcement since late October of 2017 but our schedules never seemed to align. After the recent tragedy in Weymouth we were determined to make it happen to help both the family of Sgt. Michael Chesna, a U.S. Army combat veteran and Weymouth police officer who lost his life in the line of duty, and law enforcement officers across the Commonwealth.
On September 10th the three of us finally got together to brew. After some discussion early in the brew day the name of the beer was decided. However, later in the day while referring to Ryan's brew sheet, Dan noticed the beer listed as "Black Ale Project Stout - WM117". When asked what WM117 meant, Ryan confirmed that it was Widowmaker’s 117th batch of beer brewed since opening.
Upon hearing that number, Dan immediately took out his phone and displayed a photo of Sgt. Chesna's badge...badge number 117. All three of us knew this was no mere coincidence and something very special was taking place. We also knew that the name we had chosen earlier wasn't going to work anymore and agreed the beer should be named 117."
Please join us at Widowmaker Brewing on Thursday, October 4th starting at 4:00PM to raise a glass of 117 in honor of Sgt. Chesna and all Massachusetts law enforcement officers. 117 Milk Stout is a robust stout with notes of coffee, chocolate, and a hint of blueberry in the finish. 20% of proceeds will be donated to the Officer Michael Chesna Family Fund and the LEO Support Foundation by Widowmaker Brewing on behalf of this project.
